Can you believe it’s February already?! With one month and one wedding under my belt, I couldn’t be more excited for what’s in store for 2014. Rhodes Entertainment has received more phone calls and emails from potential clients in the Boise area than ever before in a four week span. We’re either lucky or doing something right. I’d like to think we’re doing something right ;) Either way, that means this spring, summer and fall are going to be a blast!
With that said, one of my goals this year is to keep up on the blog by sharing my experiences and knowledge as a DJ. I think by giving you an inside look at what I do, you’ll have a better understanding of how Rhodes Entertainment can help create a successful event. Plus, I simply hope it’s entertaining.
Now that I’ve had some time to reflect on 2013, here is an image of one of my favorite moments from last year.
It was taken in October with my wife Joely after the Boise Art Museum’s CONVERGE DJ competition in which I took 1st place. Winning this event wasn’t necessarily what made it so special. The support I received from friends and family and the challenge of putting together a 20-minute set of authentic Brazilian music mixed with my own style was what made it memorable. It was also very rewarding getting together with fellow DJ’s from different backgrounds. It was a unique and exciting experience. Technically, a lot of other DJ’s in this market are my competition, but I prefer to view them as friends and colleagues. I think we can all learn from each other and grow together to perfect our craft which ultimately benefits our clients.
