Last Monday I had the opportunity to participate in the Open House for @stillwaterhollow.
.
It was great catching up with other event professionals and chatting with couples looking to get married at this beautiful venue.

Yesterday was my birthday. . I chose to DJ a weddi

Yesterday was my birthday.
.
I chose to DJ a wedding instead of staying home to celebrate.
.
I was happy with my decision.
.
I subcontracted the event through another company (something I rarely do).
.
The owner of the company was the only person who knew it was my birthday.
.
I never want to draw any attention to myself on someone’s special day, so I chose not share it with the couple.
.
Somehow, the word got out (Dave!).
.
Last night during dinner, Kim (the Mother of the Bride) asked if she could borrow the microphone for a minute.
.
This was a strange request, but I obliged.
.
30 seconds later she calls me to the head table area - the center of the “room” (we were outside).
.
She lets everyone know that it’s my birthday and that they greatly appreciate me working on her daughter’s special day...
.
Then they bring out a small chocolate cake with 4 candles on it and have everyone sing happy birthday to me. 🎂
.
I was slightly embarrassed. They didn’t have to do that. It wasn’t necessary.
.
Yet, I couldn’t help but soak up the moment and appreciate these kind strangers for going out of their way to show me some love on my 41st birthday. (I bet you didn’t guess that I turned 41!)
.
It was a beautiful gesture for sure. 🙂

Meet Megan & Devan! . This wonderful couple met ba

Meet Megan & Devan!
.
This wonderful couple met back in 2019 and knew almost right away that they were meant for each other.
.
They both love the outdoors and Devan proposed to Megan while on a backpacking trip in the Sawtooth mountains 🏔😍
.
When I met with them last week, I immediately loved their vibe and energy.
.
I think they felt the same way.
.
I’m super excited to share their story with their friends and family, as well as help throw an amazing party full of nothing but love and a packed dance floor!

I had the opportunity to DJ Kelsey and Ryan’s unforgettable wedding back in June.The 2-3 months leading up to their wedding day were like a rollercoaster ride for them.One day they’re excited that they’re wedding day might still happen...The next day they fear they might have to postpone, or even worse, cancel.Ultimately, they ended up moving forward with their big day. (Yay!)It didn’t come easy though.To make it work, they ended up switching venues from a convenient location in downtown Boise to a not-so-convenient one in a town two hours away.And all of this was last minute.One year of planning their perfect day in detail to having to restart from scratch about a month before. (Gah!)But, speaking on their behalf, I’m sure they wouldn’t have traded it for the world.Their night ended up being pretty magical.The energy and excitement on their day was unmatched.I did my best to make sure they had an amazing time, and honestly, I think it may have turned out better, and was even more memorable, than if they had stuck with the original plan.It’s funny how things work out like that sometimes.Now, some of you reading this may have had to cancel or postpone your wedding.That’s okay. That’s your journey. And it was probably the right decision.For Kelsey and Ryan, they were determined - maybe even destined - to have their wedding in June no matter what the circumstances were.I’m glad they did.And I’m honored to have been part of such an amazing event in these unique and uncertain times.

On Monday, I had the privilege and honor of helpin

On Monday, I had the privilege and honor of helping Shelby and Josh celebrate their wedding day in McCall, Idaho.
.
It was a crazy fun time and as a team, — myself, the venue, photographer, videographer, friends and family, etc. — we made it pretty special.
.
Here are descriptions of the pics and vids I posted:
.
1 - Beautiful ceremony on the beach.
.
2 - Dinner/Toasts/Cake Cutting/Dessert took place on the lawn between the lodge and the lake.
.
3 - Dessert = custom S’mores Bar! (I don’t typically eat at my events, so the only downside of the day was NOT getting in on that action.)
.
4 - Custom First Dance mix: Shelby sent me the list of songs they wanted and I mixed them up several weeks before the wedding — They went with three upbeat songs sandwiched between the beginning and end of “Tennessee Whiskey.” So much fun!
.
5 - The dance party was lit in the old rice building! 🔥
.
6 - Flower petal send-off to end the night!
.
(*Note: these are my personal photos and videos. The talented photographer Taylor with @redbarphotography took some amazing images of entire day - I saw some sneak peeks and they are stellar! - so hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to share some of those with you at a later time 🙂)
