Shalease and Melissa! These two beauties are one of the best couples I had the pleasure of working with in 2015. Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Star Barn in Star, Idaho on a warm Friday evening in August.
This ceremony and reception was far from average. The ceremony took place on the lawn outside of the barn. Instead of rows of seating, they had their 200ish friends and family form a circle around the “alter” with several aisles carving out the circle. So, the bridal party walked in from several different angles. Very cool and memorable!
The reception was inside the barn which is open on 3 of the 4 sides, so guests could easily move from inside the barn to outside on the lawn without feeling like they left the party. Some highlights for me: I got to MC a high-energy Grand Entrance for Shalease, Melissa and their bridal party. I witnessed some very touching speeches from both families. There was LOTS of dancing and a bright and exciting sparkler send-off was really cool too.
Overall, this wedding was a lot of fun and very rewarding as a DJ/MC. This was my first official same sex wedding and it was a beautiful one.
