I often get asked by couples looking to hire me for their wedding “Do you charge by the hour?” My answer is I do not. I price my wedding DJ and MC services by the event and there are a few reasons why:
First Reason
First, this is my full-time job, my career and my passion. If you hire me to DJ your wedding, I want you to know that I’m going to give you 100%! I want to ensure you have the once-in-a-lifetime celebration you’ve always dreamed of. That means not limiting the success of your party because my time has run up. It’s also one less thing to worry about on your wedding day.
Second Reason
Second, we’ll be spending a lot of time communicating with each other throughout the year about your wedding plans. We’ll have at least a couple in-person creative planning sessions and I’ll most likely visit your venue to discuss layout and lighting options. I’ll also attend your wedding rehearsal if I’m available on that day.
Third Reason
Third, I’ll spend a lot of time before your wedding day preparing and practicing customized playlists and personalized announcements for your big day. Your wedding needs to meaningful to you and your guests and the best way for me to ensure that is by making sure the music and announcements are on point.
In a nutshell, the value I provide goes far beyond just the time frame I’ll be spending performing as the DJ and MC on your wedding day. (Although, what I DO during that time is highly valuable!) That’s why I decided years ago to price my services by the event, not by the hour.
I hope that helps! Thank you for considering me for your big day and please be on the lookout for more answers to your frequently asked questions.
