Fitness. Music. Dance. Fun. That’s how I’d explain our November fundraiser for the Treasure Valley YMCA Annual Campaign last month.
I teamed up with the instructors of Les Mill’s “Body Jam” for a Friday night party in the Downtown Boise YMCA basketball gym. We decked out the room with black lights and held two fitness classes with a “Whip/Nae Nae” dance-off in between. Hardcore “Jammers” (as they’re endearingly called), parents with kids and everybody in between rocked it out with us. I had a blast and I’m sure everyone else did too!

This was the second time I got to DJ this event and I couldn’t have been happier with the turnout. Unfortunately, we didn’t hit our fundraising goal, but we’re excited to hopefully do it again soon. It was such a fun and unique opportunity for everyone involved, so I’d like to see it grow.

I’ve actually been a member of the YMCA since 2009 and absolutely love it. It’s a comfortable environment to exercise in and a wonderful place to take my kids. The staff is always friendly and willing to help whenever someone needs it. I hope to find more ways to support this community that I call a second home.
