I was just starting my DJ set at Neurolux Saturday night when the headlining band I was following decided to put a bunch of their gear onto the dance floor. “Aaaahhh, what are you doing!” I thought. When I DJ after a band I try to get people on the dance floor right away. I don’t want to let them slip out the door. This, unfortunately made it quite difficult. I thought it would be fun to take a picture of my frustration. I only wish I had an image from the same spot just before closing where the scene was totally different. The dance floor was packed! Yeah, I quickly forgot about my rocky start.

I’ve learned that when you’re playing music at a public venue things can change in the blink of an eye. I always try to remind myself of that when something isn’t going my way. It was pretty cool too when one of the employees from Neurolux kept telling me how much the band liked my music. They’re from England. Maybe they’ll invite me on a tour sometime. We’d have to discuss the gear issue though…
